Napoli are reportedly preparing for a fresh bid for Manchester United star Matteo Darmian as they step up their interest in him.
The Italian has publicly stated his desire to leave and will be allowed to do so by Jose Mourinho should a certain price tag be matched.
There have been several reports of different clubs’ interest in Darmian but nothing has seemingly worked out so far.
Both Milan clubs, Juventus and Napoli are said to be the ones most interested in his signature yet a deal can’t be struck.
With the signing of Diogo Dalot, there’s hardly any room for Darmian to remain should that end up happening when the transfer window slams shut.
According to Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils want £18m for Matteo after rejecting the Napoli’s initial loan and potential permanent transfer offer.
The defender has actually played fairly well for United on their pre-season tour of the United States of America, filling in for an injured Antonio Valencia.
The Premier League’s transfer window will close within two weeks time but that only applies for ins rather than outs so he could still leave.
Whether any clubs are willing to match Manchester United’s asking price is yet to be seen but those funds can be put to better use.
