Manchester United legend David Beckham has revealed winning the treble with the club was an incredible moment for him.
The Englishman was speaking during the Champions League draw and awards show where the club’s fate for the season was drawn.
United were grouped alongside Juventus, Valencia and Young Boys for a somewhat tricky Champions League group stage.
Beckham himself was reflecting upon his own European trophy win, calling it special.
The Red Devils remain the only English club to have won the treble so far and it’ll take some feat to repeat it again.
According to Manchester Evening News, David said: “There was many moments throughout my career, but winning the treble for Manchester United was an incredible moment.
“We created history and something so special for the club. Winning the Champions League the way we won it was so special.”
Manchester United have started the season poorly, losing two of their opening three fixtures but there’s time to turn things around.
Jose Mourinho will welcome the distraction of the September internationals and potentially the Champions League too.
United can use their European fixtures to try and build momentum so they can take it with them into their league form.
Grabbing all six points from Young Boys will prove crucial while avoiding defeat against Valencia is necessary.
Picking up three points against Juventus whether home or way would be a good job with the Italian’s arguably the favourites of the group.
