Manchester United stars Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford have reacted emphatically to England’s 2-0 win over Sweden in the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
The former was instrumental in his side’s advancement to the semi-finals, assisting Tottenham’s Dele Alli beautifully for the second goal.
Rashford meanwhile continued his appearances of the bench but unfortunately didn’t have enough time to create anything of note.
Gareth Southgate has continued to put faith in Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling who’s arguably had a better season than the youngster.
Either way, United’s Jesse, Marcus, Phil Jones and Ashley Young now have the opportunity to play for their nation in the semi-finals of the World Cup and they didn’t hide their delight.

Supporters have been calling for more involvement for the striker but it makes sense for Southgate to use him as a super-sub, particularly with his ability to make people get off their seats.
There’s no better time to introduce a player like Rashford than from the bench when the opposition are exhausted and are unable to deal with his dribbling and pace.
Though former Manchester United man Chicharito wasn’t a fan of the super-sub label, it definitely did bring the best out of him during his stay at Old Trafford.
