Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku has insisted that he thinks more than just about scoring goals, pointing out how he’s assisted more than ever before.
The Belgian has gained plenty of plaudits for his performances for his nation at the World Cup and a lot of it has come despite not scoring the past two games.
Lukaku is still in for a shout for the Golden Boot award due to his four goals in his first two games but rather than his goals, it’s been his all round play that has seen him praised.
The former Everton man wanted to reiterate his desire to become more than just a goalscorer and there’s no doubt he’s showing that on the international stage.
Though there hasn’t been any goals in his past two games Romelu was hugely instrumental in his country’s wins against Japan and Brazil in the round of 16 and quarter-finals respectively.
Lukaku: “Everyone thinks Romelu Lukaku is just about goals, goals, goals, but I want to be seen as an all-rounder. Providing assists is also important, and this year I have provided more than ever. I want to score but I try to work as hard as I can for the team.” #mufc [SM]

There’s no doubt Jose Mourinho would’ve been watching his star man perform at the World Cup and be absolutely delighted given what he’s sacrificed for the team.
The Portuguese manager has always been an advocate of the ‘team over individual’ mentality and he’s previously praised Lukaku for adopting that.
