Man United target admits he cannot rule a move out

Manchester United target Philipp Max has admitted he can’t rule anything out as things are too unpredictable in football, offering Jose Mourinho some hope.

The Portuguese manager is said to have wished to sign the Augsburg man but no official moves were made as some reports claimed he’s actually satisfied with Ashley Young and Luke Shaw.

Max was meant to be the cheaper alternative to priority signing Alex Sandro who is understood to be way out of United’s budget for the summer.

At the same time, the German was also meant to be a more experienced alternative to Celtic youngster Kieran Tierney but things haven’t quite worked out.

Since completing the signings of Fred and Diogo Dalot in quick succession, the Red Devils have quietened down of late in a summer they can’t afford to relax in.

According to Manchester Evening News, Philipp said to Kicker: “I am fully focused on the new season with FCA, but I cannot rule anything out.

“Everything can happen in football. I feel very good and I did not renew for nothing. These are clubs are absolutely world class. It is a great honour that my name is even mentioned in this context.

“This shows that even outside of Germany, what happened last season is noticed. Of course, it is a dream to play for such a top club some day.

“But I am not under pressure. I try to let the speculation wash over me, otherwise it would drive me crazy.”

It’s encouraging for Mourinho to hear Max say such things as it would make any potential transfer negotiations smoother since the player would want out.

The former Real Madrid manager was once caught on camera complaining to Gareth Bale that he wasn’t doing enough in order to force through a move to Manchester United.

Either way, should Philipp actually end up moving to Old Trafford, there’s no doubt it would spell the end for either Young or Shaw.
