Manchester United insider Craig Norwood has confirmed that Stoke City keeper Lee Grant will become the club’s third signing of the summer this week.
Grant impressed during a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford last season with a litany of impressive saves and likewise featured in the return fixture in January.
The club’s interest in Grant, initially reported in the Telegraph last week, comes presumably off the back of Joel Pereira‘s decision to go out on loan next season.
Norwood, best described as this club’s David Ornstein insofar as what he says is essentially gospel, confirmed on Twitter on Monday morning that Grant would become a Man United player this week.
United are set to announce their third signing of the summer transfer window this week. Lee Grant from Stoke City.

News of Grant’s arrival has prompted anger from some supporters, who are hardly in the best mood following Marouane Fellaini‘s contract renewal and the relative quiet following the announcement of Fred last month.
But the signing itself makes sense. Pereira obviously wants to spend time on the pitch next season and the 35-year-old Grant, with over 500 club appearances to his name, will have no problems with sitting on the bench at Old Trafford.
If he turns out to be the club’s last summer signing, on top of Matteo Darmian staying and Anthony Martial leaving, then supporters have every right to start sharpening their knives.
