Chelsea will be holding talks with Gonzalo Higuain’s agent on Wednesday to discuss a summer deal.
The London Evening Standard reports that Chelsea are due to speak to Nicolas Higuain, his brother, who also acts as his agent over a £53 million deal.
A three-year deal is believed to be in place that would Higuain pocket around £127,000 a week.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the Juventus striker, with the Old Lady preparing to sell the forward this summer.
The former Real Madrid man is looking increasingly likely to leave the club following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The striker is one of Juventus’ biggest earners and they hope to recoup just over £50 million from a summer sale.
A move for Higuain would cast further doubts over the future of Alvaro Morata, who is believed to be a target for several sides in Italy.
Milan, Inter, Napoli and Juventus have all been touted as possible destinations for the Spaniard.
