Thibaut Courtois is the subject of interest from Real Madrid, according to reports.
Los Blancos had been attempting to sign Alisson Becker from AS Roma, but were unwilling to meet the €80 million asking price set by the Italians.
Subsequently, the Champions League winners are now set to pursue Chelsea’s shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois.
The Belgian has been on the books at Stamford Bridge since 2011, and after a loan spell at Atletico Madrid, cemented his place between the sticks in West London.
Having made 126 appearances for the Blues, the 26-year-old has established a reputation as one of the finest goalkeepers in world football.
With 58 caps for Belgium, the 6’6 colossus has a superb international pedigree too.
Commanding such a huge amount of capital, it may prove difficult for Chelsea to hold on to their #1, especially considering the lack of Champions League football at the Bridge next season.
A variety of clubs have been linked with Courtois this summer, including Premier League rivals Liverpool.
Real Madrid’s power may prove too much for Chelsea however, and could leave the club needing to find a new goalkeeper before the start of the season.
