Paul Pogba has cooled speculation about a summer move away from Manchester United, but didn’t rule out a second departure in the future.
It has been speculated that Pogba has been unhappy under Jose Mourinho at Man United, despite the Portuguese manager being the one to bring him back from Juventus in 2016, four years after he was let go by the club.
Mourinho publicly criticised and dropped Pogba in key games throughout the 2017-18 season, another underwhelming campaign in England after United spent a world-record £89m to reacquire his services.
Pogba has played down links with a move away from Manchester though, however, was unconvincing when doing so and didn’t suggest that he was happy at Old Trafford.
“PSG? I am at Manchester [United], I have my contract here for now. All the rest is just words. That’s it. I am concentrating on the World Cup. It is always great to play with great players. But that does not mean I want to go over there.”
The 25-year-old will represent France at this summer’s World Cup in Russia and will be aiming to perform well throughout the tournament to set up a much more positive 2018-19 campaign.
Pogba has scored 16 goals and provided 18 assists in 88 appearances since rejoining United two years ago, and will hope it’s a case of third time lucky next term so pundits and fans alike will hold off with criticism and he can repay the faith Mourinho and the club have put in him to shine.
