Manchester United are set to announce Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred and FC Porto right-back Diogo Dalot as the first two signings of the summer this week.
Jose Mourinho has pursued Brazilian international Fred as a replacement for club great Michael Carrick, who retired at the end of the 201-18 season to join Mourinho’s coaching staff.
19-year-old Dalot has been targeted to provide strong competition for Antonio Valencia with the view of becoming his long-term successor and has only played eight games of first-team football.
Former club photographer turned-insider Craig Norwood has excited Man United supporters on Monday afternoon after revealing both players should be announced as early as Wednesday.
Fred Rodrigues completed his #MUFC medical at Carrington today, final paperwork to be signed before official announcement in the next 24-hours.

Fred completed his medical at Carrington earlier on in the day before being whisked away down to London to sign his contract – an official announcement is expected in the next 24 hours.
United are thought to have agreed on a fee with Porto for Dalot and the young defender is already in the country ahead of his medical in the next 48 hours.
The quickfire double capture looks like it’ll be the first bit of business in what is expected to be a busy summer at Old Trafford ahead of the 2018-19 where improvement is critical.
