The agent of Manchester United star Anthony Martial has made it known that his client is hoping to leave Old Trafford this summer, which has alerted both Chelsea and Tottenham.
However, according to Miguel Delaney of the Independent, United, if they do decide to let the Frenchman leave, would rather sell him to a foreign club instead of letting him join Chelsea or Spurs.
Juventus are the team who are being linked closely to Martial, who is looking for regular football as a lack of game time was partly to blame for him missing out on a World Cup call up.
However, Jose Mourinho is a keen admirer of Chelsea’s Willian and would apparently be open to taking the Brazilian plus cash for Martial.
Officials at United would rather the French international stay but if Mourinho isn’t going to select him, then there seems little point in keeping him at the club.
Whether Chelsea would be willing to stump up the cash needed to supplement a deal involving Willian remains to be seen but it seems like a deal that could work well for both clubs, if United can’t find a buyer from abroad.
