Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly given the go ahead to conclude the Matteo Darmian transfer to Juventus.
The Italian has long been tied with a move away from the club but it now appears that the deal is finally all but officially announced.
Mourinho earlier insisted that he has no desire to sell any of his stars unless they wish to leave so it appears that Darmian wanted to move on in order to get more game time.
Whether that will happen or not is a different story but it does allow the Portuguese manager to reinvest the money elsewhere or even to provide Antonio Valencia with adequate cover.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah though has been touted to play back up to the Ecuadorian so it could be that the cash could be used to fund other targets.
According to Red Mancunian, Corriere dello Sport report that Jose has given the green light for Matteo to leave to the Italian giants for €12m, making him their first signing.
Aside from the full-back positions there’s a need to invest in the centre-back and midfield areas as well.
For example, Marouane Fellaini appears set to leave the club on a free transfer and with no direct replacement in the current squad, Jose Mourinho will have to dip into the budget once more.
