West Ham have eyed a move for Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater, according to the Telegraph.
Drinkwater has struggled for playing time since moving to Chelsea for £35 million in the Summer.
Now the Telegraph report that West Ham are interested in a deal for the midfielder, who looks set to depart Chelsea after only one season.
A major stumbling block in any potential deal could be Chelsea’s valuation however. The club are keen to recoup a lot of money for the midfielder and could set a price tag of over £30 million, something that could put off any potential suitors.
Drinkwater formed an effective partnership with N’Golo Kante at Leicester, helping the Foxes to the 2016 Premier League title. However, him and Kante have only started together six times at Chelsea.
Monaco are also interested in signing another of Chelsea’s midfield signings from last Summer, Tiemoue Bakayoko, however, Drinkwater is more likely to leave Stamford Bridge than the French midfielder.
