Chelsea have been given a boost in their pursuit of Gareth Bale as, according to the Independent, Manchester United have pulled out of the race to sign the winger.
The Welshman had been linked with a move to Old Trafford, with Bale having a tough time in Spain with Real Madrid. He has become surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu, with Los Blancos looking at signing Neymar from PSG.
But the Independent report that Madrid now have zero interest in signing Bale, as the club already spent big to bring in Alexis Sanchez.
Bale moved to Madrid after an amazing year with Tottenham in 2013, but has struggled to consistently find that form since moving to the Spanish capital.
The Welshman was taken off at halftime against Juventus on Wednesday, as Madrid scraped their way to the Champions League semifinals.
Inter Milan now look to be the favourites for Bale, a team that the Welshman should know well after scoring a hat-trick against them with Spurs in 2010/11, but Chelsea will still hope to get a deal done if the winger becomes available.
