Manchester United target Willian has dismissed rumours of his departure and claimed he would like to play for Chelsea next season.
The Brazilian has been linked with a reunion with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford but it appears that those reports will be put to bed.
The Portuguese manager didn’t hide his desire to sign a winger but that was prior to Alexis Sanchez’s transfer to United.
Willian is said to be one of the players that Mourinho trusts though and rumours are unlikely to go away any time soon.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte doesn’t appear likely to remain at Stamford Bridge beyond the current season and that could spell a transfer exodus with Eden Hazard said to be on his way out too.
According to Metro, Willian said: “I like to play for Chelsea. On the pitch I want to do my best always to fight until the last minute. To do my best for this club.
“To continue to win titles because this club deserves always to win titles. I think we have to continue to improve for next season.
“To improve ourselves. To think about what we did well, what we did not so well and to try to make something different next season.”
Jose has consistently stated he has no desire to change his attacking players or add to them and insisted he will work on the midfield and defence in the transfer market.
However, a scenario may arise where he will have no option but to invest in that part of the pitch and Willian could be some he brings in.
That scenario is Anthony Martial‘s departure which has steadily grown in terms of it potentially happening with Juventus sniffing around.
The Frenchman is apparently unhappy with his game time and his contract, meaning he may consider an approach from the Italian giants.
Should such a thing transpire then a move to Willian wouldn’t be that unlikely and the Brazilian would certainly add plenty of quality to Manchester United’s attack.
