Manchester United favourite Gary Neville has blasted Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola as a joke following what happened before the Manchester derby.
Pep Guardiola dropped the bombshell news that the agent offered Manchester City both the Frenchman and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the January transfer window.
It’s unlikely that United would’ve ever sold any of their players to their fierce rivals and the Spaniard was perhaps trying to play some mind games.
The move backfired when it was Pogba who scored a brace to inspire his team to a comeback win against City on Saturday afternoon.
Neville believes that Raiola is a poor agent, not in his dealings with his clients but how he is in terms of his character.
According to the Express, Gary said on his Sky Sports podcast: ” Pep has probably been a bit mischievous, there’s no doubt about that. And I think Raiola would lie to anybody.
“He’s a bit of a joke really. He’s a really poor reflection on Paul Pogba.”
Jose Mourinho responded to the news by dismissing it and claiming he had no interest in it, even denying that he spoke to Paul about it all.
The Portuguese manager claimed the agent denied it happened and so that either one of them (Mino or Guardiola) were lying but that it was of no interest to him who was saying the truth.
The former Juventus player though responded to it all by celebrating after the incredible win with the away fans, telling them to not listen to all the talk and patting the club’s badge.
On the outside looking in it does appear as though Pep was just being mischievous as Gary Neville says and there doesn’t seem to be any truth to what he said.
