Italian edging closer to Chelsea managerial job

Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri has edged closer to the managerial role at Chelsea after indicating his desire to leave the club at the end of the season, as reported by the Mirror.

Current boss Antonio Conte is set to leave the club at the end of the season after falling out with the club’s board, with his compatriot Sarri at the top of the list to replace him.

Chelsea have been way off the pace in the league this season as they look set to finish 5th in the Premier League.

Napoli are now looking for a new boss with all the talk in Italy that Sarri will take over from Conte come the end of the current season.

Chelsea take on Southampton in the FA Cup on Sunday as they look to salvage something from a very poor season where they have been out of sorts for large parts.
