Inter Milan to rival Chelsea in race to sign star winger

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Gareth Bale this summer but if they do want to sign the Real Madrid star, they’ll need to fend off competition from Inter Milan.

According to a report from Miguel Delaney of the Independent, the Serie A side will look to make a move for the Welshman if Madrid decide that he is for sale.

Bale, via his agent, has made it clear that he wants to stay at the reigning European champions but, after a disappointing league campaign, Madrid are keen to have a shake up of their squad and that could see them put the winger up for sale.

Madrid hope to raise funds to purchase Robert Lewendowski and one of Neymar or Eden Hazard, and to do that, they could put the likes of Bale and Karim Benzema up for sale.

If that is the plan of action they take, Chelsea are expected to make a bid for Bale but Manchester United and Inter Milan will also be in the mix to sign him.
