Manchester United’s Timothy Fosu-Mensah has backed another of the club’s young prospects to rise through the ranks in Tahith Chong.
The versatile defender is currently out on loan at Crystal Palace attempting to make a career for himself but he’s also praised the young star.
Chong’s slowly becoming a player that United fans are keeping an eye out on in the youth games with him being touted to have a bright future.
Fosu-Mensah is another one that supporters hope will return from his loan spell ready to take a real crack at the starting XI.
Having head a couple of games under his belt under Louis van Gaal‘s time, he’ll be hoping to impress Jose Mourinho but he’s also pointed to a fellow teammate in Tahith in terms of ability.
Fosuh-Mensah on Tahith Chong: “He trained a couple of times with the first team last season, when I was at United. He’s a good player with a lot of potential. He is also eager to learn more and that is good about him. When I was there we spoke a lot.” #mufc [MUTV] pic.twitter.com/IVVUTHLFOP

Timothy has his hands already full with the task of making an impact on his return from Crystal Palace with him being touted to stake a claim in a number of positions.
The Dutchman is known for his versatility, capable of playing midfield, defensive midfield, central defence and right-back.
However, it’s been reported that Mourinho sees him as a right-back more than anywhere and hopes he will return next season ready to compete with Antonio Valencia.
The postiion is Timothy Fosu-Mensah‘s best chance at a place in the starting XI and he’s got the task of overcoming an experienced but ageing player in the Ecuadorian.
The two players represent the ideal type of competition between teammates with Valencia able to pass on his experience and the youngster able to keep him on his toes.
