Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told the media he has no new injury concerns ahead of Manchester United’s tomorrow’s FA Cup tie with Watford, but that he will make changes.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of the game, Solskjaer also confirmed that Facundo Pellistri has tested positive for Covid-19. ‘He reported that on his Twitter site. Facundo’s well and he’ll be back with us soon’, the boss said.
‘But apart from that we have a full and fit squad.
‘There’s a few players that’s had a few knocks and there’ll be a few changes but we’ll still field a team I’ll feel confident in.’
The manager was asked whether Odion Ighalo would be selected to play against his old club and he confirmed that he would be involved, but let it slip that it would be from the bench.
‘Odion, you know it’s special for him against Watford. He will be involved.
‘He’s not lost any of his sharpness or quality. It’s been difficult for him to be out of the squad as many times. He’s been a positive influence in the dressing room.
‘Hopefully I won’t need to bring him on in that we need goals but hopefully that he can join in.’
Tomorrow’s match comes too soon for new signing Amad Diallo but the manager said the door was open for him to immediately join up with the senior squad.
‘He’s still not been with us in the training group, there’s the last bit of paperwork before he can come in,’ he said.
‘If it’s going to be in the Under 23s to play his first few games or if he looks so ready after he’s been training with the first team that he can go straight into that group, I don’t know yet.’
Tomorrow’s game kicks off at 8pm at Old Trafford.
