Antonio Conte has brushed aside the criticism of former teammate Gianluca Vialli, and has stated his intention is to continue to manage Chelsea.
Vialli – who played for and managed Chelsea previously – claimed that the former Italian national team manager was preparing to leave Stamford Bridge, in the immediate aftermath of the Blues’ 3-1 defeat at home to Spurs.
Conte said:
It is not true, Gianluca is a friend but I am not talking with him for one year, maybe. It is not true.
It is very difficult for me but since this season I am listening to a lot of speculation about my future and I listen to a lot of people talk about my future.
He then went on to affirm his commitment for Chelsea:
I’m reading a lot of speculation but since the start of the season, not now, the only truth is that I am committed for this club.
I have a contract for this club and I am working very hard for this club, that is the only truth.
