Timothy Fosu-Mensah has insisted that Marcus Rashford will continue to develop as a player at Manchester United and play an important role under Jose Mourinho.
The youngster, following a blistering start to the campaign, has only claimed one goal in 2018, with the arrival of Alexis Sanchez over January casting further questions over how many minute’s he’ll receive at Old Trafford this year.
Mourinho responded by making it clear ahead of Man United’s 3-2 win over Crystal Palace that the 20-year-old would continue to receive chances, adding that he deserves to go to the World Cup even if he doesn’t play, and Rashford duly responded with a decisive cameo at Selhurst Park.
And Fosu-Mensah, in his latest episode of ‘My Shirt Stories’, was adamant that Rashford will only get better at United.

We may think of Rashford as a junior member of this United squad given his age. That youngish, unassuming face and humble personality only feeds into this ‘Golden Boy’ persona which has been built around him since February 2016.
But he is, in another sense, a very senior figure at the club. He made more appearances than any first team player last season and featured in every United game this term up until defeat to Newcastle United last month, which he missed due to injury. Throughout this period he has gone from a plucky, dazzling young forward to an established professional – a monument to not just achievement at the highest level but, crucially, to staying there as well.
To the likes of Fosu-Mensah, Axel Tuanzebe, Demetri Mitchell, Scott McTominay, Angel Gomes and others knocking on the first team door, Rashford is an example of what you need to do to get there.
As Fosu-Mensah notes, he was the first to get behind the wheel; doing that requires the very best mentality on and off the pitch.
