After the disappointment of the last two matches against Manchester City, Arsenal face a slightly less daunting opponent in the form of Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Gunners travel south to take on the newly-promoted side in a Premier League clash which isn’t exactly creating excitement amongst the Arsenal fans.
However, Arsene Wenger’s men still have to play the match and the boss has given said whether or not the fixture congestion will affect his team.
“I don’t know, we will have to analyse that medically and see if I need to rest some players or not,” Wenger said.
“I have until Sunday to make that decision, but of course, we gave a lot [in the Carabao Cup final] and on Thursday night. I have to decide who I rest and who I keep going.”
One of the players who missed out on Thursday was Jack Wilshere and Wenger was asked to provide an update on the midfielder’s fitness.
“If he can practice tomorrow, then he will be in contention,” Wenger went on.
“He will not practice today, he will have treatment and then a test tomorrow.”
The Gunners take on AC Milan in the Europa League on Thursday which will probably represent a more important match. There may be some squad rotation but, of course, Arsenal aren’t blessed with too many options right now.
