Man Utd legend backs Bale to remain at Madrid

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has claimed that Gareth Bale should wish to remain at Real Madrid amid reports of the player’s desire to leave.

The former Tottenham star has struggled for game time once more this season and it appears as though he’s had enough with rumours linking him to a host of Europe’s top clubs.

Giggs, now Bale’s international manager with Wales has explained that Madrid are a club that constantly win trophies and so there shouldn’t be any reason to leave.

The versatile attacker has had a mixed career in Spain having once been touted as Cristiano Ronaldo’s heir and now being a disposable player.

However, it appears that the lack of match time won’t affect his international career as his manager is happy to continue playing him regardless.

According to the 42, Ryan said: “It’s Real Madrid — there are only a handful of clubs who have got that aura. Of course you would want to stay there.

“What’s Gareth won, three Champions League titles? The proof is in that. When you are at clubs like that, you are always going to win things.”

Most fans would perhaps think Ryan Giggs would have a bias to United and encourage Gareth to make a move to Old Trafford but that’s proven to not be the case.

It’s true that Real are in a far better position at the moment that Jose Mourinho’s men as they collected just about every trophy last season.

While they’ve struggled in the league this season, they look strong in the Champions League and should Zinedine Zidane take them far then it’ll be unlikely that he goes anywhere anytime soon.

The French manager doesn’t seem to really rate Gareth Bale and there are reports that he’s set an asking price for the player to be sold in the summer.

Although the Spanish club won plenty of trophies last season they appear to be paying the price for not investing in the transfer window.
