David Luiz’s place in the Brazilian national side for this summer’s World Cup is in doubt, according to Rafael Reis at UOL.
Reis claims that a ‘season of nightmares’ has left Tite with a decision to make regarding the Chelsea defender.
Luiz, who was so impressive during the club’s title-winning season under Antonio Conte, has struggled to hold down a regular place in the team this season.
Both injuries and fallings out with Conte have seen the Brazilian seemingly axed out of the first-team picture.
Andreas Christensen has been preferred the Brazilian after a fine start to the season, while new signing Antonio Rudiger has also been utilised ahead of the out-of-favour defender.
The 30-year-old has featured just twice in the Premier League since the turn of the year, casting doubts over his long-term future at Stamford Bridge.
The Brazilian was linked with a January move away from the club after a reported bust-up with Conte, but no deal ever materialised.
