On-loan Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is being driven by his desire to make the Belgium World Cup squad this summer, according to Dortmund coach Peter Stoger.
Speaking to Bild, as reported by Inside Futbol, Stoger revealed that the striker had been desperate to get going from the moment he joined the Bundesliga outfit.
The fact is that he is very energetic and we noticed it immediately in training. We have got a hungry boy who will give his 100 per cent, because he needs minute in order to make it to the World Cup with his national team.
The striker has settled in brilliantly in Dortmund, enjoying a fine run of form since joining on loan from Chelsea.
In his first four Dortmund appearances across all competitions, the striker has netted five times and registered one assist.
Just days after joining the club, Batshuayi scored twice on his debut against Koln, announcing himself as an instant hit among the club’s supporters.
The striker had fallen out of favour at Chelsea but a strong second half of the season in Germany could see him push for a place in the Belgium squad this summer.
