Last Saturday’s 5-1 demolition of Everton has given Arsenal fans some much-needed confidence ahead of the North London Derby.
New signings Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put in fine performances for the Gunners but tougher opposition awaits on Saturday.
The Gunners travel to Wembley to play Spurs and now, Arsene Wenger has revealed what he expects from his new signings in their first North London Derby.
“I think we are in the middle of the season, and they are top-quality players so why should they not repeat that type of performance?” Wenger asked in his pre-match press conference.
“We want them focusing on how we want to play the game, tactically and technically. Once the game has started, these guys have experience, they have played top-level games.
“They know what is important and they know that the most important thing is to focus on the performance.”
Both players have experience playing in big matches but the North London Derby is something unique. It’s going to be fascinating to see how Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang settle into the match on Saturday.
