Manchester United’s Scott McTominay has explained just why he believes his club beat Chelsea in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
The youngster started the match as Jose Mourinho continues to put faith into him and the manager was rewarded by a top performance in the 2-1 win.
Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard were both on the scoresheet for United after initially falling behind to the Blues through Willian’s effort.
The Belgian was the one who grabbed the equaliser before half time and it was the Englishman who grabbed the winner after the break.
The Red Devils’ second half performance was a truly inspired one and it helped put between themselves and their opposition a bit of a points gap.
McTominay: “You have to take it in your stride, you need to prove to people you’re good enough. We started well. The second half we were completely in control” #mufc [Sky]

McTominay was given the man marking job with Eden Hazard being the target and he completed his manager’s instructions superbly.
Some Manchester United fans were absolutely delighted to see the Chelsea man substituted due to his subdued performance, arguing that it’s clear proof of the academy product’s performance.
Scott was initially taken on the club’s pre-season tour and did enough to impress so that Mourinho would call him up to the first team when competitive football began.
The young star has since gone from strength to strength and has found himself a regular starter in recent matches as he continues to repay his manager’s faith.
It was thanks to his display that United could hold onto their result for the remaining time and seal up all three points in the crucial clash.
