Jose Mourinho has heaped praise on Manchester United’s beautifully crafted opening goal against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
The hosts, having struggled to make inroads in the first half, went ahead soon after the break as Alexis Sanchez surged forward and found Juan Mata, who picked out a perfect cross for Romelu Lukaku to fire home at the near post.
Sanchez then capped off a superb home debut with his first goal in a Man United shirt, winning a penalty and then stepping up to put the game out of sight through a rebound.
And Mourinho, speaking after the game, was full of praise for the way Man United finally broke Huddersfield down.
Mourinho: “Great pressure by Matic, good cross from Mata, good movement from Lukaku and good finish.” #mufc

Wednesday night revealed some pretty clear shortcomings that continue to exist in this United side, but the win on Saturday also shed light on the improvements made since last season.
And at the centre of that was Lukaku – a man signed in the summer with last year’s malaise in front of goal in mind. The Belgian may lack presence in big games but his knack for breaking the deadlock against lesser sides has been invaluable this season.
His goal, which interrupted an otherwise quiet game up front, provided a lesson for United’s attacking midfield players: that if find Lukaku in the box, he will produce a decisive touch.
