Chelsea’s managerial situation is currently a precarious one, with Antonio Conte seemingly nearing the exit door.
It’s claimed by the Telegraph that owner Roman Abramovich is reluctant to replace the former Italy manager before the end of the season, despite Chelsea’s struggled.
However, it seems if he does opt to pull the plug on Conte’s tenure at Stamford Bridge, Abramovich will not be short of potential suitors for the managerial post at the club.
The report from the Telegraph indicates that Thomas Tuchel, formerly of Borussia Dortmund, is one man who would be keen to take the reins at Chelsea in the near future.
Tuchel has been out of work since he was dismissed by Dortmund last season following internal arguments with the club’s board. He was linked with moves to Bayer Leverkusen and Southampton in the summer but is evidently holding out for a bigger offer.
It seems Conte is not going anywhere just yet, but Tuchel appears to be ready and waiting to step in should Abramovich see change as the best option.
