AC Milan, reportedly interested in Antonio Conte taking over, have put talks with the Chelsea boss on hold or the time being, as per Calcio Mercato.
Conte, as is well known, is very experienced in the Italian Serie A, winning three titles in three seasons at Juventus.
Talks began between Conte and the Italian giants in November, just a few days before Vincenzo Montella being sacked by the Rossoneri. However, AC Milan legend Gennaro Gattuso took over temporarily until the end of the season, and has been excellent, meaning the Conte talks are on hold.
AC Milan lost to Atalanta at the San Siro just before Christmas, but since then have not lost, beating rivals Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia, currently sitting seventh in Serie A and leading Ludogorets 3-0 in the Europa League Round of 32.
With the impressive job Gattuso has done at AC Milan, the next few months will see if he will be offered a new contract by his former club, who he played for between 1999 and 2012.
Conte was reportedly told that the funds given if he were to take the job would not as big as he had hoped, and he reminded AC that there is interest in him from clubs with large funds such as PSG.
So the next few months until the end of the season will decide what happens to Antonio Conte, Gennaro Gattuso and the two giant clubs from this summer onwards.
