Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has told Antonio Conte not to start Cesc Fabregas against Manchester United this weekend.
As reported by the Daily Star, Parlour raised concerns about the Spaniard’s mobility in the middle of the park, despite a disciplined performance from Fabregas against Barcelona during the week.
My only worry with playing Fabregas is that mobility in midfield. Can he get around the pitch like he used to? He’s a great passer on the ball.
I know you’ve got Kante in there as well, but that midfield battle is where it’s won.
Tiemoue Bakayoko missed the Barcelona game through injury and there are doubts about whether or not he will make Sunday’s clash.
Chelsea travel to Old Trafford on Sunday in what is a huge clash in the race to finish inside the top four.
A victory for Conte’s men could see them move level on points with Mourinho’s side.
The Blues will take confidence from their display against Barcelona at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
Conte described the 1-1 draw as the ‘near-perfect’ performance as a late mistake from Andreas Christensen gave up an away goal, handing the advantage back to the Catalan side.
