Former Chelsea captain John Terry is eyeing up a move back to Stamford Bridge in the near future as he wants to take his first steps towards becoming a manager.
The 37-year-old’s contract with Aston Villa expires at the end of the season and, according to James Nursey of the Mirror, he is hoping to take up a coaching role at Chelsea as he’s unlikely to continue his playing career.
Terry’s short-term aim is to get Villa promoted back to the Premier League, but he’s unlikey to feature for Steve Bruce’s side if they do earn promotion as he’s expected to hang up his boots.
According to the report in the Mirror, Terry’s ultimate ambition is to become Chelsea manager and as such, he’s hoping to get a coaching role at the club and work his way up the ranks.
The former England captain still lives in the Cobham area, close to Chelsea’s training complex, and he’ll be hoping that an opening comes up to allow him to get back to work at his boyhood side.
