Chelsea have been boosted in their hopes of keeping Antonio Conte beyond this season.
ESPN report that the Italian Football Federation are not considering a move to bring him the 48-year-old back as the coach of the national team.
Alessandro Costacurta has recently spoken of his admiration for Conte and his desire to bring him back to the Italian squad, but now the former Milan defender says a move is unlikely.
The availability on the market is going to be a fundamental aspect in the choice of the future Italy coach.
Conte, for example, has ruled himself out of the running for the national team job because he has said he wants to be a club coach for the next 18 months.
Conte left his role with the Italian national team after a successful Euro 2016 campaign and lifted the Premier League title during his first season at Stamford Bridge.
There are now concerns for the Italian’s long-term future at Chelsea, with the Blues fighting to finish inside the top four.
The former Juventus boss has been on a crash course with club officials throughout the season as he bemoans the lack of depth he has available to him in his current squad.
Despite concerns about his future at Stamford Bridge, Conte has openly admitted he would be keen to sign a new deal with the Blues.
