David de Gea 6 – Sold his side short a couple of times with his kicking, but dealt comfortably with Everton’s aerial threat. Didn’t have to make any big saves.
Victor Lindelof 6 – Found his lack of pace exposed by Yannick Bolassie during the opening stages but improved as the game went on.
Phil Jones 6 – A slightly frenetic display. Took up decent positions at the back but lost the ball needlessly on a number of occasions.
Marcos Rojo 7 – Produced the perfect response to his horror show against Burnley. Made a decisive block in the first half and patrolled the centre with authority all evening.
Luke Shaw 7 – Another sprightly display from the Englishman: bombed forward with purpose, causing Mason Holdgate problems, and defended with discipline.
Nemanja Matic 6 – Positioned himself well and recycled the ball with care, but his reluctance to play the early ball forward was frustrating.
Ander Herrera 5 – Went about his business tenaciously and gave Pogba the freedom to move forward, but his quality on the ball has miserably regressed this season.
Paul Pogba 7 – Jose Mourinho handed the Frenchman a freer role and reaped the benefits. Dominated the game going forward and supplied an assist for Martial.
Juan Mata 6.5 – Lacked influence in the first half but came alive in the second, popping up all over the pitch and coming inches away from a superb long-rang goal.
Jesse Lingard 7 – A lively, nimble presence at No.10, breaking through the lines with pace and purpose. Capped off another confident display with a superb, curling strike in the 80th minute.
Anthony Martial 6.5 – Found life difficult at the masthead of attack at times, lingering on the periphery for the most part, but showed his class with a perfectly placed strike to put the visitors ahead.
