Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly made peace with the club’s executive vice chairman Ed Woodward after their relationship became strenuous.
The Red Devils were said to be upset by Mourinho’s claims of the club’s efforts in the transfer market that seemed to suggest he wasn’t fully backed by the club.
The Portuguese manager’s comments about PSG’s project also seemed to suggest that his interests and future lay elsewhere, worrying the hierarchy at Old Trafford.
He has since come out to restate his ambitions to remain at United and to take them back to the top of English football once more.
Woodward was also under pressure as rumours continued to swirl, potentially destabilising and distracting the club during pivotal times in the season.
According to the Sports Mole, The Mirror report that Jose has reinstated his desire to see out his contract and in turn Ed has promised to back him in the transfer market.
The club’s backing has already been made evident by their efforts in attempting to secure Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez’s signature.
Although the Chilean will be available for free in the summer, Manchester United are trying to lure him to the club by bidding for him now to beat their competitors.
Jose Mourinho made it clear in the summer that the squad needs investment in the winger position and Sanchez represents the ideal candidate for the role.
With Manchester City also trying to bid for Alexis, the United board’s statement of backing the former Chelsea boss will be fully tested.
