Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that none of his players can currently be considered as unsellable during transfer windows.
The Red Devils have reportedly had interest in a few of their players such as Matteo Darmian, Luke Shaw and Henrikh Mkhitaryan amongst others.
Rumours have mostly focussed on the Armenian with reports claiming he’s the club’s most dispensable player at the moment with Mourinho said to have lost patience with him.
With United interested in Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, there’s a need for a clear out before investing in two quality players.
The Portuguese manager has claimed that he doesn’t believe in holding onto players against their will or refusing to sell despite interest.
According to Manchester Evening News, Jose said: “Henrikh Mkhitaryan? My approach to players is that every player has a price. Doesn’t matter who he is, doesn’t matter the level, doesn’t matter the prestige, the status, I think every player has a price.
“I’m not the kind of blind managers, blind in the sense of this player is untouchable, this player we can never sell, I think every player has a price.
“So when the transfer window is open is also open for any club that is interested in our players, then it’s up to us to make the decision yes or no, it’s up to us to decide what we think is the right price.”
Darmian is another player heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford and it’s come to no surprise to most Manchester United fans.
The versatile defender has struggled since his move to the club to truly nail down a spot in United’s starting XI regularly.
Capable of playing at right-back, left-back or at centre-back, most supporters initially thought he would thrive under Mourinho given the Portuguese’s love for versatile players.
However, Matteo has been devoid of confidence and has never really adapted to the club fully, instead playing understudy to Antonio Valencia.
It says a lot about the Italian that he’s had to play back-up to a former winger who’s been turned into a full-back rather than hold down the spot himself.
