Liverpool boss indirectly questions Man Utd target Sanchez's commitment

Liverpool’s German manager Jurgen Klopp has aimed an indirect dig at Manchester United target and Arsenal player Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean international is expected to be announced as a United player at any moment in the near future and Klopp has already decided to question his commitment.

Sanchez decided to leave the Gunners half way through the current campaign with his contract set to expire in the upcoming summer.

The Red Devils decided to try beat their competition by bidding for the winger and offering Henrikh Mkhitaryan in return.

The not so common straight swap deal is seen as a bargain by many fans but the Red’s manager has seemingly fired shots at Alexis nonetheless.

According to Manchester Evening News, Jurgen said: “No Liverpool player of this squad would leave – and not just because we say it but because of their commitment to the club.

“No-one would leave to any other Premier League club during the season. I’m not just confident of that – I know it. It is just impossible.

“No player who is here will say, ‘OK, come on, in the middle of the season I go there or there.’ I really cannot see that situation.”

Liverpool recently lost one of their stars half way through the season in Philippe Coutinho’s move to Spanish giants Barcelona.

The Brazilian has reportedly been eyeing the move for some time now but the Reds managed to hold onto him until the Catalan’s came in for him once more in this January transfer window.

Coutinho left for a huge sum of money which was in turn used to invest in Southampton centre-back and Dutch star Virgil van Dijk.

Whilst Philippe’s move wasn’t to a direct rival so to speak, Jurgen Klopp’s words come off as a little hypocritical nonetheless given he let go of a player during a crucial point of the season and one he claimed he would never let go.

There’s also the matter that Van Dijk left to Liverpool half way through the campaign as well so is he questioning his own side’s new player’s commitment as well?
