Chelsea are concerned that Eden Hazard may have his heart set on a move to Real Madrid after he rejected a second contract offer, according to the Metro.
The Belgian forward was reported to have rejected an initial contract offer last month, and now French publication RMC claim that a second deal has been declined.
Hazard’s current deal runs until 2020, but the Blues’ want to tie their star man down to a new long-term deal with improved terms. It was reported that their first offer would have made the Belgian the highest paid player in Chelsea’s history.
Hazard is said to be aware of interest from Real Madrid and is likely to wait until the end of the season to see if Zinedine Zidane will make his move.
RMC also claim that Madrid have upped their contact with the player in recent weeks, and Hazard’s rejection has said to have infuriated Antonio Conte.
Hazard teased Chelsea fans earlier this week by saying he’d sign a new deal when Thibaut Courtois committed his future to the club but it looks unlikely that the matter will be resolved before the end of the season.
