Chelsea youngster Baba Rahman is set to go out on loan again, most likely to former Bundesliga loan side Schalke 04, after recovering from a knee ligament injury, according to The Daily Mail.
The Blues are willing to send Rahman away as they look to have nearly completed the signing of AS Roma’s left back, Emerson Palmieri, in a reported £44m move which would also see Edin Dzeko move to West London.
However, Schalke 04 are not alone in wanting Rahman, as there is interest from Premier League rivals Everton as well as Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan.
Rahman was on loan at Schalke 04 for the 2016/17 season, which saw him make 13 league appearances for the Bundesliga outfit, as “die Königsblauen” finished tenth in the German top flight.
He also helped Schalke 04 reach the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League, where they were knocked out after extra time to eventual finalists, who lost to Chelsea’ rivals Manchester United, Ajax.
Schalke 04 currently lie third in the Bundesliga, level on points with second placed Bayer Leverkusen, but also just a point ahead of seventh placed Eintracht Frankfurt.
So the Gelsenkirchen side are doing tremendously well, but are looking at bringing Rahman back to help cement that Champions League spot and to get the 23-year-old more game time.
