Jesse Lingard continued his stunning form for Manchester United with another influential performance for the Reds on Monday evening.
The Englishman scored Man United’s second goal on New Year’s Day as the Reds beat Everton 2-0 to end a run of four games without a win.
Lingard has now scored seven goals in his last nine matches, assisting twice in that period too. His goal contribution rate this season for United has been better than most top attacking midfielders in English football.
He’s scored more than Alexis Sanchez, Eden Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne this season. His stats on Monday showed his great importance to Jose Mourinho’s side.

Lingard was also expected to be a solid squad player for United. He broke through quite late due to his small frame and injuries, but has come into his own since late November, given a license to roam by Mourinho as he cuts in from the left flank.
The 25-year-old netted a wonderful solo goal against Watford to seal a 4-2 win for United, scored a brace in United’s ruthless 3-1 away win against Arsenal at the Emirates and came off the substitutes bench on Boxing Day to score grab another two-goal haul and rescue a point for Mourinho in a 2-2 draw.
