Arsenal’s new head of football relations, Raul Sanllehi has reportedly identified a replacement for Hector Bellerin should the Spaniard leave the club (via Sport Witness).
Despite the fact that they’re backroom staff, Raul Sanllehi and Sven Mislintat have proven to be two of the most popular signings Arsenal have made in years.
Now, reports suggest that Sanllehi and manager Arsene Wenger have identified a potential replacement for one of the club’s players.
Hector Bellerin has been strongly linked with a move away from the Emirates in recent years but the Gunners have a target in mind should he decide to leave anytime soon.
Reports in Italy claim that the player in question is Udinese’s Silvan Widmer, a 24-year-old Swiss international.
Widmer has been at the Serie A side since 2013 and was once a potential target for Premier League rivals, Liverpool.
It’s unclear if there is any truth in these reports coming out of Italy. Not much is known about Silvan Widmer but it’s good to see that the club is lining up replacement targets for their key stars. Failing that, Hector Bellerin has been in poor form of late and an upgrade wouldn’t be the worst bit of business for Arsenal.
