Henrikh Mkhitaryan has another potential suitor if he’s to leave Manchester United in Italian side Inter Milan.
Sky in Italy report that the Nazzuri are ‘carefully following’ Mkhitaryan’s situation at the club with the Armenian falling out of favour in recent weeks.
His form at the start of the season was good, contributing five assists in the first few games. But his performances since the end of September have often been woeful. His final balls have been missing, and he’s lost possession constantly when played.
He started his first game since November 5th on Saturday evening against Southampton, but was subbed off after 64 minutes after another poor display.
Mourinho admitted in November that he had been dropped due to his performances, rather than a tactical change.
Mkhitaryan is reportedly one of a number of possible targets for Inter Milan, with FC Barcelona’s Gerard Deulofeu and Paris Saint-Germain’s Javier Pastore also being considered.
Mourinho appeared to hint recently that Mkhitaryan would be allowed to leave the club if the player wishes, citing examples of Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay in January 2017, who moved to Everton and Olympique Lyonnais respectively.
United fans have seen just how good Mkhitaryan can be, with some world-class contributions and moments. But he has put in some truly terrible performances this season, and his confidence is at a huge low.
