Jesse Lingard put in another superb performance in attacking midfield for Manchester United, scoring the Reds’ second goal in a 2-1 win against West Bromwich Albion.
The Englishman celebrated his 26th birthday this week and is in some of the best form of his career. A couple of weeks ago he scored a stunning individual goal, dribbling through half of the pitch before finishing well to win Man United the game against Watford.
He followed that up with a brace against Arsenal and is on his way to his best goalscoring season.
Lingard has quickly cemented himself as first-choice for Jose Mourinho, displacing Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan from the side.

Often underrated and undervalued, Lingard has quietly established himself as one of United’s best players this season.
He’s frequently criticised for his off-pitch antics and on-pitch celebrations. In reality, though, he is a Warrington-born United fan who has grown up playing for the club through the academy, waited patiently for his chance, has taken it by scoring the winner in an FA Cup Final, winning three trophies and now earning a regular starting spot. All that, plus the fact he is constantly visibly enjoying living his dream. What is there to complain about?
If Lingard wasn’t performing, maybe it would make sense, but he’s now equal statistically with some of the Premier League’s best players this season.
Jesse Lingard has scored or assisted 7 goals in the Premier League this season, the same amount as:
Hazard (5⚽️ & 2️)
Sanchez (4⚽️ & 3️)
Firmino (5⚽️ & 2️)
Mane (4⚽️ & 3️)#MUFC http://pic.twitter.com/cDtxSWmkaz

Lingard will continue to start for United now, showing Jose Mourinho he deserves that role.
