Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard is refusing to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge in order to force a deal to Real Madrid, according to The Times.
Hazard has put his talks on hold until the end of the season, despite the club being willing to offer the Belgian £300,000 a week to make him their top earner.
Hazard does remain happy at the Blues and with a deal that runs for a further two and half years, he is content on waiting before putting pen to paper.
He has been in scintillating form of late, which included a brace last weekend against Newcastle United to set his side on their way to an important victory as they try to keep up with Manchester City at the helm of the league.
He has formed a formidable partnership with Spaniard Alvaro Morata up top for Chelsea and the pair look set to play an integral role in the Blues’ season.
Hazard will hope to keep his positive form going into next year, a year in which his Belgian side will face Gareth Southgate’s England during the World Cup group stages. He will hope to have a strong tournament so he can firmly put himself in the shop window ahead of the summer transfer window.
