Chelsea are planning contract talks with Andreas Christensen in January, according to The Evening Standard.
The report claims that Chelsea want to secure Christensen’s future with the club.
Christensen has been in impressive form for Chelsea this season after returning from a two-year loan in Germany.
The defender has made himself a regular starter for Antonio Conte’s side, and produced another good display in Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Southampton at the weekend.
He has displaced David Luiz from the Chelsea starting line-up, which has led to the club wanting to hand him a new contract.
His current deal expires in 2020, with Chelsea wanting to further extend that, likely to 2022.
The report claims that he is on £35k-per-week on his current Chelsea contract, with a pay increase expected for his new deal.
The Danish defender has started 16 games this season for Conte, eight times as many games as he has played for Chelsea before the start of the season.
