Chelsea could be offered renewed hope over ending their pursuit of Juventus full-back Alex Sandro, with the Brazilian set to leave Turin next summer, according to TuttoMercatoWeb, as claimed by Calciomercato.com.
Chelsea’s interest in the former Porto left-back was heavily reported during the summer, with a supposed €50million (£44.1million) being the summit of the Blues’ bidding efforts.
Despite offering a large transfer fee, and proposing a large wage packet for the player, the 33-time Serie A Champions refused to negotiate, and subsequently began talks to extend the player’s contract.
However, according to the report by the Italian media outlet, Alex Sandro has informed the Bianconeri that he is not interested, and expressed a clear desire to leave the club in the summer – despite Juventus offering to equal the wages proposed by Antonio Conte’s side.
Juventus are already working on finding a replacement, with Roma’s Emerson Palmieri a prime target. Chelsea have also expressed interest in Palmeri in the past, so The Daily Mail reported earlier on this year.
Conte continues to look for a left-back to ease the pressure on Marcos Alonso, who has started every game in the Premier League and the Champions League for Chelsea this season, only being rested for the domestic cup competitions.
