Former Chelsea player John Terry has claimed that Jose Mourinho won’t be giving up on the Premier League title anytime soon.
The Red Devils sit in 2nd place and are an incredible 11 points behind fierce rivals and league leaders Manchester City.
Despite the gap between the two sides, Terry believes that Mourinho would never give up on anything, let alone a Premier League title.
The Englishman worked with Jose during their time together at Chelsea with the Portuguese manager heavily relying on him for leadership.
United will face City once more later on in the season and will have another opportunity to directly take points away from them.
According to Inside Futbol, John said: “They will be interested [in the title], if they are not they won’t be in the squad.
“He [Mourinho] will demanding from those players, day-in-day-out and pushing them to take Manchester City, Chelsea right to the wire. He will be pushing them.”
Manchester United will certainly need star player Paul Pogba available should they wish to catch up to Manchester City.
The task will be momentous but if the Red Devils embark on their own winning run and City drop points then it’s not out of the question.
Jose Mourinho has spoken about focusing on each match as it comes and it’s likely that his side will become embroiled in a Champions League spot fight rather than the title but anything is possible in football.
The Premier League has seen crazier things happen; bigger shocks and unusual stories come true against all odds.
United are a completely different side with Pogba in their starting XI and if the Frenchman can stay fit and firing then who knows what can happen.
One thing is for sure, Jose will certainly push his players every single step of the way.
