Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told reporters that he doesn’t expect Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United to ‘park the bus’.
The Red Devils will travel to the Emirates stadium to take on their rivals in the hopes of keeping on with league leaders Manchester City.
Arsenal meanwhile, are just four points away from United and are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table.
A win would mean that Wenger and his side mean business this season though they will have to fight for the three points as Mourinho’s men will not give up on the title so easily just yet.
The two managers clashing certainly makes for an interesting match, add fire to an encounter that’s already typically heated and the French manager expects a lot from his opponents.
According to the Sports Mole, Arsene said: “I don’t expect anything special [defensively]. Man United is a strong team and I expect us just to cope with the problems they will give us.
“They will attack as well. They will not only defend. It is a game between Arsenal and Man United at home. I just want to focus and to prepare well my team, and give my team a good chance to win the game.
“Man United are doing well at the moment, we are doing well at the moment, so it looks to be a promising game.”
With kick-off on Saturday, the Red Devils will hope to have star midfielder Nemanja Matic ready in time for the match, although early suggestions are that the Serbian will not be fit.
The Gunners though will miss key striker Alexander Lacazette, handing a lifeline to Frenchman Oliver Giroud who will be keen to make his mark.
A win against Arsenal could see the London side tumble out of the Champions League spots with Liverpool and Burnley (of all teams) breathing down their neck.
Anything short of Champions League qualification this season will surely spell the end for Arsene Wenger, whether the Frenchman is fire or retires from the game entirely.
Normally consistently involved in the European competition, it’s unlikely that the board will accept missing out two seasons in a row and Mourinho could help spark his old nemesis’ end.
