Arsene Wenger has revealed the extent of the injury sustained by Alexandre Lacazette after the forward was subbed off at half-time on Wednesday night (via Arsenal.com).
There weren’t many negatives about Arsenal on Wednesday night.
The key players showed up, Ozil and Giroud got back amongst the goals and the Gunners secured three points and a comfortable win.
However, one of the few worries Arsenal fans can have about the match was with Alexandre Lacazette.
The forward put in a good performance, grabbing the opening goal of the night but was replaced at half-time by Arsene Wenger with fears of an injury. Now, the Frenchman has revealed what is happening with the striker.
“Lacazette has a groin problem and will certainly be out for Saturday’s game,” Wenger said after the match.
Losing Alexandre Lacazette ahead of the Manchester United match is a major blow. The forward has been in fine form, particularly at the Emirates Stadium. However, Arsenal have options in their squad and the fact that Olivier Giroud grabbed two goals on Wednesday night won’t hurt his confidence.
